Der Fotograf Bernd Becher ist heute in Rostock gestorben.
Mit ihm tritt einer der ganz großen Fotografen von der Weltbühne ab.

Nachtrag: Als kleine Erinnerung hier ein Interview mit Bernd Becher vor 4 Jahren im WDR.

I was shocked and sad when I saw tonight on German television that Bernd Becher had died during an operation. I have followed and admired the work of Bernd and Hilla Becher since the late sixties and find the sober and severe images quite unforgettable. I cannot emphasize enough how important their work has been for not only a new school but also a new view of photography which will have a lasting impact.
I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Hilla Becher.
